Ant Pest Control

The most common species of ant found in British homes and gardens is the Black Garden Ant. Foraging worker ants invade buildings in search of food. Black Garden Ants measure 3 to 5mm in length and are attracted to sweet sugary foodstuffs which when found they take back to the nest to feed to the queen and larvae.  Flying ants are the reproductive males and females of the species these mating ants are winged and have only a few days in summer when conditions are right to reproduce. Mating takes place on the wing after which the female seeks out a suitable nest site where she over winters waiting for warmer weather to start up the new colony.
